Claritas Lecture: Richard Robinson

Nanoparticles have opened up new worlds in science. Before their discovery, no one could have guessed that a material's properties could radically change when reduced to the nanosize. Nanoparticles assume new, novel properties not seen in normal materials. Atoms can be easily manipulated into nontraditional arrangements, so-called "metastable phases," which can lead to enhanced energy applications. Richard Robinson, an award-winning associate professor of materials science at Cornell University, will present the key ideas behind colloidal nanoparticles and the impact they've made.

This annual event is a fun, safe, family-oriented trick-or-treating event for the whole Selinsgrove community, as well as faculty and staff families.

The houses along University Avenue will be decorating and providing activities for kids. There will be an activity tent with carnival games, photo booth, coloring station and face painting. In addition, there will have a free petting zoo, local fire and rescue vehicles for kids to explore, and free snacks, including Wicked Dog Grill hot dogs.

Our Hillel House offers hot beverages for parents and kids, and there will be a haunted house offered by TKE for a nominal fee.

We participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project so each location will have separate non-food prizes for children with food sensitivity or allergies.
