Selected European and American Works from the Georgia Museum of Art

Opening reception, 7 – 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27

This exhibition, organized by the Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia, Athens, includes 46 prints-woodcuts, lithographs, drypoints, etchings, screen prints and more-ranging from the 19th through the 21st centuries, each by a different European or American woman artist. Prints by Women uses works from the museum's permanent collection to provide a visual chronicle of art by women.

Organized by the Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia, Athens.

Cunningham Center for Music and Art - (Stretansky Concert Hall)

Last year’s residency by the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble was such a sensation that this year its music director, Kevin Noe, returns to Susquehanna for a full week. Since its founding in 1976, the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble has performed the world premieres of almost 300 works, and Noe himself has commissioned more than 50 new works in the last 10 years. In addition to his work in Pittsburgh, Noe is professor of conducting and director of orchestras at Michigan State University.

Noe will be in residence at Susquehanna from Feb. 19-23 as part of the Martha Barker Blessing Musicians-in-Residence Series.

Forna is the award-winning author of the three novels The Hired Man, The Memory of Love and Ancestor Stones, and the critically acclaimed memoir The Devil that Danced on the Water. Her fiction has won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize Best Book Award and the PEN Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, and has been short-listed for the Neustadt Prize, the Orange Prize for Fiction, the IMPAC Award, and the Warwick Prize and nominated for the European Prize for Fiction. Her memoir was serialized on BBC Radio and in The Sunday Times newspaper. Forna is currently a Lannan Visiting Chair at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Women's Lacrosse: Susquehanna at Roanoke

Susquehanna offers 23 varsity sports programs, 12 women's and 11 men's, all of which compete in Division III of the NCAA. The lacrosse teams play their home games at Sassafras Field, a turf field.
